Our competition dance team is comprised of four levels; Tiny, Mini, Junior and Senior teams. Competition Team is by invite only for our Tiny and Mini teams. If your are new to iD and are interested in being considered for Tiny or Mini teams, please let us know and we will be happy to set up an evaluation. We have auditions in the summer for our senior and junior teams. Our competition dance program is set up to allow dancers the opportunity to train and compete at a higher level of dedication to the art of dance.
Our Tiny Team attends one class per week where they learn jazz, tap and ballet technique and jazz choreography for competition. Dancers have the option to take an additional tumbling class as well. Tiny Team includes dancers ages 4-5. This group competes at three local competitions in the Spring.
Our Mini Team has a 90 minute jazz/tap combo class one night of the week, with a 45 minute ballet class on another night. Mini Team competes in the categories of tap and jazz, and performs ballet in the recital. Mini Team includes dancers ages 5-7. They compete at three dance competitions, all in the Des Moines area.
Dance for me is the most fun, yet challenging thing you could ever do. There is always more to learn and room for improvement, and the feeling you get when you perform or give a class your all is indescribable.
